Some of us truly care about the food experience.  While many places have their own unique flavors and offerings, we do not always think about college food offerings in the same way.  For our students who want to make sure their palates are as satisfied as their intellectual curiosity, we’ve put together this list of 13 schools that are perfect for students who are foodies….or just plain hungry.

LOVE ICE CREAM?


Penn State Berkey Creamery - The first college to offer a distance learning course on how to make ice cream, it is famous for being the correspondence course that launched Ben and Jerry’s! 
Mississippi State University
- From apple cider to ice cream, their Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Store store has it all!  Bonus: check out the cheese selection.

Cornell University - Check out their ice cream sundaes and floats!

LOOKING FOR A FOODIE CLUB?


University of Denver - Their mission is to experience different cuisine, while educating ourselves and others about different cultures from across the world. Also try their Grilling club and Cooking club!

University of New Orleans - Food Adventurers and Culture Club and Creole, it’s a unique match and quite the education!



But do not fret, many colleges have a foodie-type club, make sure you check out the clubs and organizations at your prospective school. Of course, you could always start your own club!

GREAT DINING HALLS


Virginia Tech - offers a unique spin on dinners in the dining hall.  Parents and family members can submit family favorite recipes and the chef selects ones to make.  A taste of home is always nice!

Northwestern University - Consistently ranked for quality meals across the board. There is always something being served that you will want to eat!

Franklin and Marshall College - Offers global fare at their all-you-can-eat dining halls. Take a risk to try new foods as part of your meal plan!

FARM TO TABLE


Antioch College - If you love to garden, why not sign up to work at the Antioch Farm. You’ll be growing some of the fresh foods being served in the dining hall!

Colorado College - Learn about sustainable agriculture while also providing food for students on campus and the community at large.

The farm-to-table movement on a college campus takes several forms. From sustainability to fresh from the garden, if this is a movement important to you, check out this list of the top 40 colleges with excellent farming programs.


JUST GOOD FOOD


Drexel University - This could get long, so we are going to let its blog post do the talking!

Seattle University - From food justice to sustainability, and pesticide-free to fair trade, Seattle has made every effort to ensure that the food it brings on it’s campus is responsibly sourced and disposed of. Did we mention the Aquaponic facility it built in Peru to help a community there?

DePaul University - DePaul not only has great food on campus, but it encourages students to explore the wonderful offerings in the city of Chicago through discount partnerships as well. Deep Dish pizza anyone?
