The best essay topics are based on meaningful stories from a student's life. If they can think about one of those stories from the perspective of their best friend, they might come up with an angle that's new and compelling. It's a great way to brainstorm a topic that will showcase their values.
"Think about something you’ve done with your best friend—maybe something really fun, something adventurous. Think about how you might have that friend introduce you to someone new by having them tell that story about you. [...] And then that’ll give you a potential narrative for an essay."
